otherwise known as ‘SPARX WILL FLY!’

Sparx is a junior age Bible Club full of fun, helping the children to discover God for themselves through stories, songs, craft and games.

In 2003 a number of local children who we had first met on the ‘Giveaway’ rounds came to church. We felt strongly that God wanted us to start a children’s club. We prayed hard. ‘HELP GOD!! We’ve no experience!’.

So God sent us a skilled, experienced children’s worker, Debbie. She helped us plan a programme and led many of the early meetings.

Four years on Sparx is thriving. Some of Sparx children now attend our young people’s group.
Our current Sparx leader is Rachel; she has an enthusiastic band of talented helpers. An Easter Musical was especially written for them by one of the leaders and produced with team work.

We are excited as we look to the future. We have planned our autumn programme and we look forward as Rebecca Owen joins us at Agape on a two-year placement as part of her Youth and Community degree course and becomes involved in Sparx and other youth meetings. She will lead a meeting for the children who want to continue to learn about God, but are now too old to come to Sparx.

God continues to work as we continue to teach, show God’s love and character, and pray for local children.
