What is a Community Link Worker?

The link worker is a qualified support worker who works within Ty-Sign community every Friday. This service is provided for free by Agape to meet the needs of those living in the Ty-Sign area of Risca.

How does this work?

We want to meet the needs of the community and that means meeting the needs of individuals, like you. So wherever possible we will try and provide for your practical, emotional or spiritual needs. This could be as simple as needing someone to chat to every so often, or something more practical like getting help filling in forms, picking up the shopping or decorating.

If you’re looking for some help, then please contact us and we can arrange to meet somewhere you’re comfortable , in a cafe or your home. We can then chat informally about your needs and the best way for us to help you. We may be able to help directly, or we can search out the best person for the service you require. We are always available to help you review how things are going, and see if anything else can be done to help.

So I suppose I have to go to Church to get some help?

Absolutely not, the Link Worker is here to provide a free service to anyone living in Ty-Sign regardless of their race, beliefs, religion, sexual orientation or background.

“My life has changed since I’ve been receiving visits. It’s been like a shining light coming into my life and the black clouds have gone.” Pat, Ty-Sign
