Tyndale burned for translating the Bible

by Colin Dexter

On October 6, 1536, William Tyndale was strangled and burned at the stake for translating the Scriptures into English for the common man. He was accused of heresy and given an opportunity to recant, but used his last words to pray with a loud voice, “Lord, open the King of England’s eyes!”

Within four years of his death, several English translations of the Bible were published in England at the King’s request, all based on Tyndale’s work.

22yr old sentenced to death in Pakistan. Why?

by Colin Dexter

In Pakistan, Christians face constant danger for their faith. It’s easy for false accusations to lead to death sentences. After the case of Asia Bibi, we are now facing another terrible situation where Ehsan Shan, a 22-year-old, has been arrested and sentenced to death.

Imagine being sentenced to death for sharing a TikTok post.

That’s the horrifying reality for 22-year-old Ehsan Shan, a Pakistani Christian, who now faces execution for daring to share an image of a damaged Quran online.

But Ehsan’s story doesn’t have to end this way.

The Rt Hon David Lammy MP, as the UK’s Foreign Secretary, has the power to intervene. He can raise this case on the global stage, apply diplomatic pressure, and advocate for Ehsan’s life. With enough international outcry, we can stop this injustice.
