Care for the Family Launches first Charity Shop
Care for the Family are about to launch their first charity shop. It’s an exciting new venture to help us to raise funds, which will be used to support the work of the charity, providing subsidised holidays to single parent families, supporting bereaved parents and young widows, and producing new resources to help parents in the daily challenges they face. We also aim to raise awareness of what we can do for families to a broader audience.
Care for the Family is a Cardiff based charity that is much loved by Christians in the UK and has been working to strengthen family life since 1988. Our aim is to promote strong relationships and to help those who face family difficulties. We believe that every family should have somewhere to turn for support in both the good times and when life is challenging.
Working throughout the UK and the isle of Man, we provide parenting, relationship and bereavement support through our events, resources, courses training and volunteer networks. Our work is motivated by Christian compassion and our resources and support are available to everyone, of any faith or none.
We will open on Saturday the 29th March Please call in and shop for a fantastic bargain in a relaxed and stylish environment. We are at 13 Whitchurch Rd, CF14 3JN.

Street Pastors
Risca Street Pastors
Last Friday (18th March) Churches in Risca launched a Street Pastors initiative for Risca with the support of the local MP, Councillors and Police.
16 people signed up to participate in the training with a view to becoming a Street Pastors whilst another 8 signed up to be part of the nightly prayer support.
Street Pastors Risca is an initiative of the local churches, working together with the Police and the Local Council. It is part of a national initiative run by a charity called the Ascension Trust.
The idea is simple: Street Pastors is a ministry to those in the pubs and clubs of our town, working to be a prayerful listening and caring presence of Christians from local churches between 10pm and 1am on a Friday/Saturday. We’re not there to preach at people, simply to care, to listen and to help: to show the love of Jesus in practical ways. It is quite simply – the church in action on the streets.
Street Pastors nationally was launched in Lambeth in 2003 and is now in hundreds of towns and cities across the UK. From the very start it has been endorsed by the Home Office
